Compensation: This is a salaried position with an expected 25-30 hours per week. Salary depending on education and experience, with ranges of $35-40k.
Church Background: King of Kings Lutheran Church is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). With an average worship attendance of approximately 100 individuals and a congregation of around 200 active participants, our church is committed to fostering a diverse and meaningful worship experience that resonates with our community and promotes holistic discipleship.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and spiritual guidance to the worship team, nurturing their growth and fostering a sense of community and shared mission.
Collaborate with other church staff and ministries as needed, promoting a unified approach to ministry and discipleship.
Be proactive in recruiting new worship team participants from both within and beyond the walls of the congregation.
Oversee and coordinate the worship team, comprising musicians, vocalists, and technical crew, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Lead and organize engaging worship services that reflect our commitment to diversity and meaningful worship experiences.
Oversee the maintenance and utilization of the sound system and the creation of slides and publications necessary to facilitate worship.
Select appropriate music and hymns for services, drawing from various styles and traditions to create a musically diverse worship experience.
Plan and coordinate special services and events, including but not limited to Christmas, Holy Week, Easter, and other significant celebrations.
Manage the worship budget and resources effectively, ensuring responsible stewardship of church resources.
Qualifications and Requirements:
A growing faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to participation in a local congregation.
Commitment to the church's mission and values, with a passion for holistic discipleship.
Musical proficiency, including strong vocals and proficiency in multiple instruments, especially piano and keyboard.
A degree in music and performance or commensurate documented experience.
Experience in leading worship in a church setting, with a demonstrated ability to engage diverse congregations.
Knowledge of various worship styles and traditions, with the ability to draw from them creatively.
An organized self-starter who can meet deadlines and communicate effectively with staff and volunteers.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
